VIDALIA — Vidalia power shut off townwide for approximately eight minutes Saturday afternoon.

Vidalia Electric Department water plant operator Johnnie Minor said Entergy was working on a power line in the city at approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday when there was a short, causing a brief power outage across town.

Entergy workers restored power to the city within eight minutes, Minor said, and he expects no further outages in the future.
