NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Gary E. McCullars, 72, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 8, 2018, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Britt officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. McCullars was born April 3, 1946, in Monticello, Arkansas, the son of Warren F. McCullars Jr. and Edna Grimes McCullars. He was a region controller for International Paper Company.

Mr. McCullars loved to fish, go to the deer camp and be with friends, ride four-wheelers and liked to work on family genealogy.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Warren F. Sr. and Grace B. McCullars; maternal grandparents, Walter and Sally Edna Grimes; and niece, Kathryn McKay.

Survivors include his wife, Joy McCullars; one son, Scott McCullars and wife, Mary Kathryn, of Johns Creek, Georgia; one daughter, Leigh Anne Wilson and husband, Davy, of Natchez; his mother, Edna McCullars of El Dorado, Arkansas; five grandchildren, John Hollis, Caroline and Sophie of Johns Creek, and Garrett and Peyton of Natchez; one brother, Frank McCullars and wife, Jana, of El Dorado; and one sister, Elizabeth “Liz” McKay of El Dorado.

Pallbearers will be, Barrett Clark, Eyrich Clark, Richard Whitney, Charles Bergin, John Hollis McCullars, Garrett Wilson, Peyton Wilson, Derrell Clark.

The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude and most heartfelt thanks to Lillian

Harris. Lillian was a Godsend and took excellent care of Gary (and Joy). The family will always remember Lillian for the loving care she provided over the last couple of months.

The family is also very appreciative of the in-home services provided by Deaconess Hospice.

They were truly blessed to have Veronica Edmonds and Shelia Evans assist with Gary’s care.
