JONESVILLE — Services for Emitt Wilson Walker, 91, of Jonesville, who died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Utility Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. James Foster and the Rev. Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Jonesville under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

E.W. Walker was born Aug. 8, 1926, the son of Charley Walker and Emmett Edwards Walker.

He was a member and deacon at Utility Baptist Church.

E.W. retired from International Paper Company, with more than 40 years of service, as an instrument operator.

He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lottie “Elaine” Walker; six brothers, Larry Walker, Willie Walker, Genie Walker, Charlie Walker, the Rev. Mack Walker and Dudley Walker; and one sister, Bonnie Collins.

Survivors include his wife, Carma Whittington Walker; one daughter, Lana Carr and husband, Shelby, of Jonesville; stepdaughter, Mona Whittington of Glen Rose, Texas; three grandsons, John Logan Taunton and wife, Christina, of Mandeville, La., Micah Taunton of Monterey and Rod Walker of Houston; one granddaughter, Carla Howard and husband, Tracie, of Sulphur, La.; one step-grandson, Daniel Upchurch and wife, Keira, of Glen Rose, Texas; one step-granddaughter, Monica Keeley and husband, James, of Demopolis, Ala.; one sister, Venie Emfinger of Ferriday; eight great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Walker, Adron Walker, Logan Taunton, Micah Taunton, Rod Walker and Jim Kelly.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and his Sunday school class at Utility Baptist Church.
