FAYETTE — Services for Thais Woodfox Franklin, 88, of Fayette, who died Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Fayette with the Rev. George Ajuruchi officiating.
Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Norman under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home with a rosary from 6 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Ms. Franklin was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Donaldsonville, La., the daughter of Leroy Bertrain Woodfox and Mary Blouin Woodfox. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Colenridge “Coley” Franklin; two daughters, Belinda Franklin Nichols and Melanie Franklin Stewart; five grandchildren, Ayanna Franklin and husband, Kris, Alexandra Byrd and husband, Robert, Dr. Tuere Franklin-Kendall and husband, Jason, Kibwie Franklin and Akil Franklin; and three great-grandchildren, Imani Jackson, Z’Liyah Byrd and Kristopher Grant.
Pallbearers will be Leonard Brinkley Jr., Charles Carradine, Samuel Brinkley Jr., Dr. Willie D. Humphrey, Donald Malone and Robert Tenner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Colenridge “Coley” Franklin Jr., Akil Franklin, Kibwie Franklin, Kristopher Grant, Jason Kendall, Robert Byrd, cousins and nephews.
