NATCHEZ —- Services for Anne Hastings Allen Hash, 62, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug 3, 2018, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, will be 3:30 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ken Ritter officiating, assisted by the Rev. C.J. Meadors, formerly of Natchez.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery in the Spencer lot under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Hash was born Feb. 12, 1956, in Natchez, the daughter of Woodrow Wilson Allen Sr. and June Guyleen Spencer Allen.
She was a 1974 graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and Mississippi State University studying interior design. While at Mississippi State University she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
After marrying her husband, Jesse Edwin Hash, they worked for more than 25 years together running Rivergate Bowl and J&N Trophies. She was an experienced bowler and participated in a number of leagues and won numerous tournaments, both locally and state wide. She was inducted into the Natchez Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame.  Her energy, enthusiasm and compassion for bowling led to organizing and running a number of tournaments on the local and state level. One of her proudest accomplishments was the “Grandma–Grandpa” bowling tournament, covering teams from four states, which just completed its 31styear of success.  She managed to work on all levels of the local bowling organizations and ultimately became president of the Mississippi Women’s Bowling Association and president of the Alabama-Mississippi Bowling Proprietors Association from 2010-2016. She enjoyed yard and garden, bowling, golf with Jess, cooking for family and friends, especially her niece and nephew. She was a most loving and caring person to her family, friends and any cat or dog that needed a home or attention. She recently worked for Allen Petroleum Services as a lease preparer and ancestry researcher.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, having served on a number of committees and as a member of the Trinity Vestry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow W. Allen Sr. and June Guyleen Spencer Allen; her husband, Jesse Edwin Hash; and one uncle, James Lamar Spencer.
Survivors include one brother, Woodrow W. Allen Jr. and wife, Evelyn “Sissy,” of Natchez; one nephew and niece, Spencer Foster Allen and Jennie Anne Allen of Natchez; two stepsons, Wayne Hash and wife, Christy, and Darrell Hash, all of Natchez; four step- grandsons, Lee Hash, Rob Hash, Heath Hash and Colby Hash;  and a special friend, Robert Ewing.
She is also survived by her loving dog, Mamie.
Pallbearers will be David Junkin, Kenny Jackson, Wayne Hash, Gerry Winters, Glynn Laird, Ned Barclay, Mark Carter and Brandon Falls.
The family thanks the staff in the cardiovascular intensive care unit and Dr. Hannah Copeland for their care and attention during her final stay at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
