WATERPROOF, La. — Services for Joe E. Dawson, 74, of Loamland, in Waterproof, La., who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at his residence, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at his residence.
Burial will follow at the South Central Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at his residence.
Mr. Dawson was born Nov. 16, 1943, in Wisner, the son of Elmer Reed Dawson and Maidie Lee Ezell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hair Dawson; three sons, Eddie Dawson and wife, Chrissy, of Brownwood, Texas, Joe Dawson Jr. of Atlanta, and Michael Dawson of Waterproof; three daughters, Terri Cooper and husband, Alan, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Diana Humphries and husband, Jerry, of Mansfield, Ga., and Jeannie Dawson of Danielsville, Ga.; two brothers, James Dawson and wife, Gerrie, of Gilbert, La., and Wayne Dawson and wife, Susie, of Natchez; three sisters, Evelyn Pounds and husband, Mike, of Waterproof, Louise Evans and Patricia Reeves, both of Ferriday; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
