NATCHEZ — A Natchez man charged with statutory rape of a juvenile female was sentenced Monday to 15 years in state prison.

Tyrone Darius Williams, 33, was arrested at 201 Lumber St. on Oct. 5, 2017, when DNA test results reportedly showed he had sexual intercourse with a 14 to 16 year old girl, said Natchez Police Department Capt. Scott Frye.

The case dates back to Sept. 22, 2016, when the parents of an unnamed juvenile reported the teen missing.

The teen reportedly ran away from home and willingly climbed into a man’s car and was taken to a residence at 23 Beaumont St.

The teen’s father drove to the residence and found his daughter walking down Beaumont Street and immediately drove her to the hospital to be tested with a rape kit, Frye said.

The teen was given drugs and alcohol at the residence, which she took without force, Frye said, and told police that she had sex with Williams multiple times over the course of the few days she stayed at the residence.

It’s unclear whether the teen knew Williams prior to the incident, Frye said.

Though other men were reportedly at the residence, only Williams’ DNA appeared in test results and Williams was the only one charged, Frye said.

Williams pleaded guilty to non-habitual statutory rape in August and Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders sentenced him to 15 years in MDOC Monday morning.

Williams also has a criminal record that predates this charge.
