MERIDIAN — Services for Leathia Ann Allen, 79, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Anderson Regional Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. John Temple officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Barham Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Meadville, the daughter of William Antley and Lula Jones Antley.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School and the school of cosmetology. She was a homemaker, enjoyed decorating her surroundings and socializing with her many friends. She will be remembered for her strong faith in Jesus Christ and her love for family and church.
Allen was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wade Allen; her parents; one sister, Lucille Strahan; one brother, David Antley; and one daughter-in-law, Susan Allen.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Wade Allen; one son, Richard Doyle Allen of Meridian; one granddaughter, Leslie Allen More and husband, Jesse; one grandson, Clint Allen; four great-grandchildren, Clay and Carley More and Bentley and Braxton Allen of Aliceville, Ala.; and two sisters, Hilda Graves of Vidalia and Willie Mae Smith of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Johney Bracato, Mark Sanders, Devlyn Vick, Ray Eldridge, Billy Allen and Jesse More.
The family extends its appreciation to Dr. Halbrook and Dr. Rahat for their professional and compassionate care of Mrs. Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church Building Fund.
