We are ready to roll for the eighth annual Krewe of Fat Mama’s poker run.

Again this year the Krewe of Fat Mama’s and Adams County Search and Rescue have teamed up to host the 2018 Natchez Poker Run.

All money raised will be split to benefit the family of Austin Rymer and Adams County Search and Rescue.

ACSAR is a 100 percent volunteer group that depends on fundraisers to bring a valuable service to you. Bring your bike, buggy, classic vehicle, (anything street legal), to Fat Mama’s Tamales on Saturday.

Adams County Search and Rescue is a volunteer organization dedicated to the mission of search and rescue, Mississippi River safety, first aid/CPR, evidence recovery and other tasks assisting the population of Adams County.

ACSAR has coordinated many missions with our neighboring counties and parishes.

The eighth annual schedule will start with registration from 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Fat Mama’s Tamales, 303 S. Canal Street. The events ride begins at 10:30 a.m.

All street legal vehicles will leave for Illusion’s on the Vidalia-Ferriday Highway.

Following that stop our route will take us on to CR’s on Highland Boulevard for lunch and the drawing of the second card. Lunch will consist of a hamburger plate for $5 with a drink. We will then take a scenic ride out Louisiana 33 to the 33 Roadhouse to get the third card.

After our stop at 33 Roadhouse all riders will head toward Smoot’s Grocery on Broadway Street in Natchez. Last stop will be back at Fat Mama’s to draw the fifth card at approximately 5 p.m.

The best five-card stud poker hand wins $300. The second-best hand gets $200. The third-place winner gets a cool $100. Many door prizes will be given away as well. Such categories as “Most Patriotic Bike” (or vehicle) or “Best Bling” will be awarded from a panel of ACSAR judges. A 50/50 pot is a $5 chance to win half of all the money in the pot. You don’t want to miss this.

Entry fees for the poker run are $25 per bike/hand. All street-legal vehicles will be charged an entry fee of $25 as well. T-shirts for this year’s event are $15 each and are limited in number, so be sure to get yours early. We may even have a few of previous year shirts for only $5. First come, first serve on all.

More information may be obtained by visiting our Facebook page at “Krewe of Fat Mama’s Natchez Poker Run.” Melissa Brown (event coordinator) can be reached at 601-807-8030 with any additional questions.

Come enjoy the fun and fellowship. Come support and meet the volunteers you pray you will never need. Be sure to talk to the ACSAR members and see if you have what it takes to be one. Adams County Search and Rescue exists to help protect Adams County and its neighbors.

Thanks in advance for your support.
