Jonesville schools evacuated because of threatening note

JONESVILLE — News outlets are reporting that all Jonesville schools were evacuated at 12:30 p.m. Monday after Catahoula Parish authorities received a report of a threat.

Catahoula Sheriff Toney Edwards told the Catahoula News Booster that a threatening note was found w at Jonesville Jr High against all students. No particular student was named in the note.

Students from all Jonesville schools were evacuated to Trinity Park in Jonesville according to a statement from Northeast Louisiana Ambulance Service, who responded to the situation “out of an abundance of caution,” NELA spokesman Shane Scott told KNOE in Monroe, La. Buses and parents picked up students at the park. Scott said all students have been safely evacuated and are home.
