WATERPROOF — Services for Abe Warren, 81, of St. Joseph, La., who died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, in Waterproof, with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Warren was born Oct. 10, 1937, in Waterproof, the son of John Warren and Louise Holmes.
He was a retired farmer. He was well known throughout the community for processing venison during deer season.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Abe Warren Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Taylor Warren; three sons, Jesse Reed and wife, Verrie, of Natchez, Larry Warren and wife, Erma, of Houston, and Gregory Warren and wife, Carol, of Baton Rouge; six daughters, Lisa Hammond and husband, Graylin, Gladys Scott and husband, Edward, Ethel Smith and husband, Raymond, LaTonia Critney and husband, Ricky, all of Baton Rouge, Shirley Dibartolo and husband, Anthony, of Atlanta, and Mary Hawthorne and husband, Fred, of Houston; one brother, William Warren of Baton Rouge; one sister, Ella Holmes of Houston; one godchild, Kimberly Pollard of St. Joseph; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
