NATCHEZ — A Natchez man had his probation revoked Thursday morning in Sixth District Circuit Court after he admitted he had violated the terms of his parole, his attorney said.

Michael “Traedoe” Thomas had pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in February and was sentenced to five years under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections probation office, Thomas’ attorney Carmen Brooks-Drake said.

While under supervision, however, Thomas was arrested last month after Adams County Sheriff’s Office’s special operations group stopped a vehicle Thomas was driving and said they found what they believed to be 41 ecstasy tablets, approximately 30 grams of marijuana, digital scales and a box of .40-caliber bullets.

“Today, he did admit that he had violated the terms of his probation and waved the revocation hearing,” Brooks-Drake said.

Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders revoked Thomas’ probation and sentenced him to serve the five-year sentence in the Mississippi Department of Corrections prison. Officials have said they believe Thomas, an aspiring rapper who regularly posts rap videos on social media platforms, may be at the center of a feud between rival neighborhood groups that has resulted in multiple shootings, some deadly, over the past year.

“It is my understanding the courtroom was filled with friends and relatives with ‘Free Traedoe’ T-shirts on,” said Travis Patten, Adams County sheriff. “People need to get their priorities in the right direction. If you know your loved one is involved in selling dope and shooting people, do the right thing. Get them to stop and turn them in. If they don’t, it might be someone else this time but next time it might be you.”
