NATCHEZ — Services for Douglas F. Sims, 88, of Crockett, Texas, formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in Crockett, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Sims was born May 4, 1930, in Boothton, Ala., the son of Ben and Gertrude Sims.
He was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Christine Sims; one son, Danny Sims; stepson, Danny Leigh; and one brother, Alden Sims.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Allen and husband, Oscar, of Crockett; one stepson, Ed Leigh and wife, Sandra, of Brandon; five grandchildren, Caleb Allen and wife, Randi, Matthew Leigh, Nathan Leigh and wife, Gabi, Becky Barnhill and husband, Lee, and John Bass; four great-grandchildren, Huntley Allen, Reid Leigh, Lila Bass and Harry; and one sister, Peggy Dannelly of Spanish Fort, Ala.
