NATCHEZ — A memorial service for Betty Jean Johnson-Washington, 71, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Aide Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Marshall Funeral Home Natchez Chapel.
Ms. Washington was born July 31, 1947, in Rosedale, the daughter of Robert Johnson and Mildred M. Myles.
She was a former member of Forest Aide Baptist Church choir and its Pastor’s Aide Club and Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 2 choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Warren Bell.
Survivors include her loving companion of 23 years, John Young; her one and only child, Natalie J. Paul and husband, Greg; three stepdaughters, Contina Milligan and husband, Mark, Makisha Young and Ericka Barnes and husband, Andrew; two grandchildren, Justin Johnson and Preston John; seven step-grandchildren, Derrick Young, Jameshia Young, Adrian Young, A’shunte Barnes, Aiden Barnes, Shakira Sanders and Troy King Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jaden, Presley and Zoe; five step-great-grandchildren, Lailah, Ariyah, Raegan, Mason and Frendndus Jr.; two brothers, Melvin Johnson and wife, Linda, and Ralph Myles; two sisters, Debbie Myles and husband, Robert, and Janice Welch; five godchildren; one grand-goddaughter, Taliah Firley; five nieces and one nephew; two special friends, Lane and Kate Feltus; and a number of other relatives and friends.
