DEERPARK — Services for BJ Morace, 38, of Deerpark, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, in Concordia Parish, will be 11 a.m. Monday at New Era Baptist Church with Tony Ganey and Dustin Davis officiating.  Burial will follow at New Era Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will start at 5 p.m. today at the church.

BJ was born on Oct.11, 1980 in Natchez.  He worked for Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office. When he was not at work, he could be found fishing for catfish or deer hunting. He dearly loved his family and friends and will be missed by many people.

He was preceded in death by five grandparents, Homer Morace and Loretta Morace, Milton “Dink” Wilson and Emma Wilson, and Paul Gass; and his stepmother, Joyce Morace.

Survivors include his mother Renee Gass and her husband, Samuel Gass of Clermont, Fla.; father, Genie Lee Morace Sr. and his wife Monica Morace of Deerpark; three brothers, Milton Paul Gass of Mineola, Fla., Anthony McGehee of Dothan, Ala., Willian De Lima of Brazil; two sisters, Emily Serrentino of Jacksonville, Fla., and Naiza DeLira of Brazil; and grandmother, Mary Gass of Clermont, as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Glen Book, Justin Coco, Wilson McMillin, LT Glen Seyfarth, Cole McMillin and Tommy Millican.
