FAYETTE— Services for Elzena Harris McGee, 96, of Chicago, formerly of Red Lick, who died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, in Chicago, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J.T. West Jr. Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home-Fayette Branch, with the Rev. Chester Watts officiating.
Burial will follow at East Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Lick, under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home-Fayette Branch.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home in Fayette.     
Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. McGee was born on July 25, 1921, in Red Lick, the daughter of Dailey Harris Sr. and Elvira Harris.
She attended school in Fayette and later graduated from Campbell College (now Jackson State University).  She received a teaching degree and had a career as a teacher in Red Lick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred McGee; her parents; and eight siblings, Wilson, Wallace, Dailey Jr., Ulysses, Abraham, and Nathaniel Harris, Kazetta Watts and Sophia Rankin.
Survivors include one loving daughter, Carolyn Powe and husband, Ollie; one devoted granddaughter, Judith Powe; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
