Raymond Luther Davis

NATCHEZ — Services for Raymond Luther Davis, 65, of Natchez, who died Thursday March 21, 2019 at Merit Health Natchez, will be noon Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow at Davis Family Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. until service time Monday both at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born Dec. 13, 1953 in Natchez, the son of Luther Davis and Dorothy Lillian Alexander Davis.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and his grandkids were his world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law Jack McDaniel and Tommy Lee, and three nephews, Mike Weathersby, Joey Cupit, and Gabe Cupit.

Survivors include his wife Glenda Ellis Davis of Natchez; two daughters, Sabrina Bland and husband, Jay, of Hazelhurst and Kim Emfinger and husband, Heath, of Natchez; one son, Raymond Andrew Davis and wife, Rachel, of Natchez; three sisters, Jean McDaniel of Natchez, Faye Fuqua and husband, Danny, of Pleasant Plains, Ohio, and Pat Lee  of Roxie; one brother, Malcolm Davis and wife, Sandra, of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Kayla Bland, Kristopher Emfinger, Payton Emfinger, Ethan Emfinger, Madison Brandenburg, Emma Davis, Kahlie Brian, Anna Davis, Ryker Davis, and Levi Bland;  and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Sanford, Colton Weathersby, Douglas Davis, Preston Fuqua, Kristopher Emfinger, and Craig Cox.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Todd Fuqua, Payton Emfinger, Ethan Emfinger, Ryker Davis, Levi Bland, Timothy Sanford, Cecil Burlison, Brad Griffin, Billy Ray Tanner, Griff Toney, and Robert Warren.
