FERRIDAY — Services for Bertha Mae Gomez, 87, of Clayton, who died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Riverland Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Josh Moreau officiating.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Gonzales, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gomez was born March 17, 1932, in Red Lick, the daughter of Tom Coley and Annie McEnryre Coley.

She was a member of Ferriday First Baptist Church.

Gomez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Dewey Braud; one son, Gary Dewayne Braud; one daughter, Lisa Marie Braud; nine brothers, Ellis, Walter, Gordon, Tom Jr., Travis, Edward, Ray, Homer and Marvin Coley; and four sisters, Lessie, Mary Lou, Myrtle and Iola.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Braud and wife, Karla; two granddaughters, Keri Shelton and husband, Lonnie, and Kelli Waguesoack and husband, Shane, all of Gonzales; four great-grandsons, Preston Shelton, Conly Shelton, Bennett Waguespack and Barrett Waguespack; and a number of nieces and nephews.
