Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies helped U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials apprehend a detainee who briefly left a Concordia Parish correctional facility Wednesday morning, authorities said.
“A Cameroonian man in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) briefly left the River Correctional Center without authorization April 3 at approximately 8:15 a.m.,” said Bryan Cox, a spokesman for ICE. “The ICE detainee was apprehended in less than 10 minutes near the facility’s perimeter fencing by facility staff, ICE personnel and the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Department.”
Cox said ICE is investigating details surrounding this incident.
“No additional information is available due to the ongoing investigation,” Cox said.
