JONESVILLE — The Block High School Lady Bears’ unexpected run in the 2019 LHSAA Class 1A Playoffs came to an end last Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinals as they lost to the No. 4 seed Logansport High School Lady Tigers 18-2 in five innings.

Block, the No. 12 seed, was looking to keep its momentum going after a stunning 10-8 come-from-behind win over No. 5 seed Delta Charter School in the regional round last Tuesday afternoon.

Instead, the Lady Bears ran into a familiar opponent in District 3-1A rival Logansport and the result turned out to be more lopsided than the 15-5 district win by the Lady Tigers in five innings back on Tuesday, March 26.

Logansport (23-10) will be one of three teams to represent District 3 in the Class 1A state semifinals at Frasch Park in Sulphur, La. this Friday, along with No. 1 seed LaSalle High School and No. 3 seed Montgomery High School. The other team is from Delta Charter’s district, District 2 — No. 2 seed Oak Grove High School.

Block finished the season with an overall record of 6-15.
