MEADVILLE — Services for Alice Juanita Cothren, 71, of Roxie, who died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with the Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cothren was born July 7, 1947, in Meadville, the daughter of Cameron Buckels and Alice Lima Adams Buckels.
She enjoyed being with family and friends. She was a very loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend who often reached out to fill the needs of others.
Cothren was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Madeline Bickerstaff; and four brothers, Rayford Buckels, Kenneth Buckels, Billy Buckels and Bobby Buckels.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Marcus Cothren; one daughter, Leanne Cothren of Jackson; one son, Paul Cothren of Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.; one brother, Alfred Buckles of Nebraska; two grandchildren, Christopher Cantrell and Jack Renfroe; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cantrell, Jack Renfroe, Kyle Hunt, Dick Toth, Allan Buckles and David Cothren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Buckles, Ron Toth and Jessie Havard.
