This year’s 40th annual Natchez Community Cancer Tennis Tournament will be Friday through Sunday at Duncan Park.

The co-tournament directors Pyron and Hogue said the cut-off deadline to register for all of the events is 6 p.m. Wednesday.

“We have to get all of the players in as soon as possible in order to make the players brackets for all of the events,” Pyron said. “Anyone not yet in needs to call us.

“We typically will have around 85 players. We draw the same players every year from Jackson, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and other towns, too.”

Breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday by the pro-shop.

Barbecue hamburgers will be cooked there Saturday for lunch.

“We would like to invite anyone to come down,” Pyron said. “You don’t have to be a tennis player. If you make a donation you can eat and drink and watch some pretty good tennis.”

A cocktail party will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for anyone wanting to attend at the home of Greg and Caroline Iles at 209 Broadway. Cost Cost is $25 per couple.
