Baby Bombers win in Magee All-Star play

NATCHEZ — The Baby Bombers girls 6U All-Star coach pitch team from Natchez plan to make a trip to Picayune next month to play in the USSSA All-Star Southern Nationals after winning several games over the weekend.

The Baby Bombers went to Magee Mississippi last weekend to compete with three other teams of All-Stars in Mississippi winning two out of four games.

The Bombers beat Neshoba County 5-2 on Friday.

On Saturday morning they lost a close game to Purvis by the score of 7-6, but came back in the afternoon to win their afternoon game against Columbia 12-2.

On Sunday the Bombers lost to Sumrall in their last game 12-7.

Luke Janette is one of four coaches who all share the role of head coach.

“I have coached for seven years, and enjoy teaching them to throw, catch and hit, I love just being able to coach,” Janette said.

The other coaches for the 6U Bombers team, who spend time teaching during the season and after in All-Star play are Quinn Southerland, Garret Rayborn and Emily Murray.

Some of the sluggers on the Bomber squad of only 10 players were; Brooklyn Rayborn who had 11 hits with 13 trips to the plate, including a 3-run home run. Audrey Janette went 11for13 batting, Kate Carlton was 9 for13, Ryder Southerland was 9 for12, Ryan Marks went 5 for12 and Emory Fuller went 4 for 12.
