Funeral services for Mike Pounds, 80, of Waterproof, who died Thursday, July 4, 2019, at St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, will be noon Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.

Burial will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner, Louisiana.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Pounds, born March 01, 1939, in Tensas Parish, Louisiana, was an avid outdoorsman who was a lifelong Hunter and Fisherman. He loved passing down the tradition of the outdoors, hunting and fishing to his kids and family. Pounds was a wonderful and loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Pounds proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

He is preceded in death byhis father, Charles Pounds; mother, Mary Dabbs Pounds; son, Billy Anderson; son, Kenneth Auld Jr.; daughter, Doris Anderson; grandson, Matthew Evans; great-grandson, Logan McGee; and brother, Pat Pounds
Mr. Pounds is survived by his wife, Evelyn Pounds of Waterproof; son, Jeff Myers and wife, Gloria, of Violet, Louisiana; daughter, Connie Misita of Waterproof;daughter, Ragenia Forman and husband, Wesley, of Clayton; daughter, Deana Walker and husband, Daryle, of Sicily Island; daughter, Karen Crabtree Edwards of Monterey;daughter, Tina Auld of Raceland, Louisiana; daughter, Terry Bryant and husband, Sam, of Prairieville, Louisiana; daughter, Nancy Webre of New Rhodes, Louisiana; sister, Jeanette Minor of Waterproof; sister, Rebecca Lee of Kingston; brother, Charles Pounds of Waterproof; and brother, Robert Pounds of Vidalia;grandchildren, Mary Cirilo, Ashley Forman, Casey Myers, Karoline Myers, Maddie Myers, Bella Eschete, Kennedy Edwards, Storm Edwards, Daryle Walker II, Savanna Walker, Castle Walker, Mike McGee, James McGee, Jonathan Walker, Andrew Evans and Jessica Evans. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sean D. Edwards, Wesley Forman III, Michael McGee, James McGee, Curtis Cirilo and Josh Pounds.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Myers, Andrew Evans and Ted Humphries.

In Lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the Pounds Family Fund.
