NATCHEZ— Services for Birdie King Wade, 78, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Joe W. Pickett officiating.  
Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Wade was born on July 8, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of William King Sr. and Elnora King.
She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and attended Alcorn State University.
Birdie was retired from the City of Natchez and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1, where she served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher and deaconess.  She also was a member of the 4-H Club.  She enjoyed arts and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wilbert Wade.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Bruce; three daughters, Brenda Sparks and husband, Howard, Linda Newborne and husband, Ricky, and Sharron Minor and husband, George; one brother, Eddie King and wife, Jeanette; five sisters, Lillie Mazique, Ruth King and husband, Charles, Mary Dennis, Mary Davis and Edna Phipps; grandchildren, great grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
