Marilyn Paradise Schilling

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida — A celebration of life service for Marilyn Paradise Schilling, a resident of Sandestin and Marietta, Georgia, who died Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at Brookdale Senior Living in Miramar Beach, Florida, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at the Community Church, 3524 U.S. 98 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.   
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Watkins Funeral Home in Miramar Beach.
Born in 1948, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Marilyn spent most of her youth in Natchez. She attended the Mississippi State College for Women and received a bachelor of science in education in 1970. She married Joseph Quitman Schilling Jr. on June 18, 1971, and they began their lives together in Marietta, where she was also an educator through the youth Sunday school program. After retirement, Marilyn and Joby moved to Miramar Beach and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets.
Marilyn was devoted to her family, loved music and enjoyed helping others more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett, and her mother, Irene, and one sister, Elaine.
Survivors include her husband, Joby; two sons, David and Dan and wife, Stephanie; two grandchildren, Caden and Makynlee; one sister, Barbara; and two brothers, David and wife, Betty, and Robert and wife, Ann.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
