Changing lives: Fifteen graduate during 17th annual intervention court graduation

The Sixth Judicial Intervention Court — formerly known as drug court — celebrated its 17th annual graduation ceremony Tuesday at the MBA building on the Natchez Alcorn State University campus. Intervention court participants undergo long-term treatment and counseling, sanctions, incentives and frequent court appearances. Successful completion of the program results in a combination of dismissal of charges and reduced or set aside sentences. Most importantly, officials say the graduates gain the necessary tools to rebuild their lives.
