NATCHEZ — Graveside services for James Benjamin Young, affectionately known as, “Bema”, 75, of Natchez, who died on Friday, March 27, 2020, in Natchez, will be on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery.
Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
James was born October 15, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Oscar Young and Mary Byrd. He was a cross-country truck driver until his retirement. Early in his adulthood, he met the love of his life, Doris Davis and together they raised seven children. James enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.
He is preceded in death by his love, Doris Davis, daughter, Codessa Davis, grandsons, Benjamin Davis, Jr. and Bryan Ford, Jr., parents, three sisters, Ruby Young, Betty Young, Shirley Thompson, and two brothers, Louis Young and Charles Young.
James leaves to cherish his memories, five sons, James Ford and wife Angela, Bryan Ford, Hagg Muhammad, Benjamin Davis and wife April and Louis Davis and wife Temika; one daughter, Joyce McCoy; four brothers, five sisters, eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
