NATCHEZ — Graveside services for George Joseph “Tit” Scott, Sr., 78, of Natchez, who passed at his residence in Natchez on April 21, 2020, will be noon Friday, May 1, at the Natchez City Cemetery in Natchez with burial immediately following. Walk-through-only visitation services will take place Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at 11 a.m. until service time Friday, May 1, at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home Natchez.

George was born in Adams County on February 11, 1942, to Joshua Scott and Loretta McShane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son, Dr. Juwone Scott Sr.; sisters, Lillian Henry, Geraldine Williams and Loretta Harmon; and special friends, Lenard Green and Sam Hendrick Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 56 years, Deloris Scott; sister, Mary Elizabeth McShane of Silver Springs, Maryland; a daughter, Yolanda Cooley (Latoris) of Natchez; three sons, George Scott Jr. (Stephanie), Reginald Scott Sr. (Sebrenna), all of Natchez, and Calvin Scott Sr. (Latrell) of Dallas, GA; five grandchildren that he raised, Lanoxne and Tamieka Scott, Latrice Ellis, Dometrice and Delvon Scott; and a great granddaughter, JaNayla Claiborne, all of Natchez; twenty-two grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews and special friends, Eugene Butler, Herman Wade, and Freddie Hendrick.

He was a devoted family man who loved them very much and will be greatly missed.
