FERRIDAY – Graveside services for John Lewis Jr., 79, of Ferriday, LA, who passed away May 11, 2020 at his residence in Ferriday, were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

John was born Ferriday, LA, on Dec. 20, 1940, to John, Sr. and Augustine White Lewis.

He is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Huber Lewis; maternal grandparents, John and Rosetta Walker White; one daughter, Barbara Lewis Davis, one brother, L.C. Lewis; one sister, Augustine Lewis Martin.

Survivors includes two daughters, Dr. DyWanda Lewis, Marvin L. (Tarnisha Maracalin) Burks, Prairieville, LA; one son, Carl Lewis, New Orleans, LA; three brothers, Henry Lewis (Gail), Anthony Lewis, both of Vidalia, LA, Aaron Lewis, Natchez, MS; five sisters, Rosetta Monroe, Ballston Spa, NY, Elizabeth Lewis, Ferriday, LA, Dr. Evaline L. Foster (James), Vidalia, LA, Lucille Fair (Robert), Natchez, MS, Shirley Lewis, Greensboro, NC; a sister-in-law, Barabara Lewis, W. Monroe, LA; a devoted caregiver and special friend, Derrick Truitt (Nina), New Orleans, LA; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
