Blaney qualifies as Justice Court Judge Southern District candidate; Adams qualifies to run for sheriff

NATCHEZ — With three hours left to qualify as a candidate for county and state elections this year, Jack Blaney has qualified as a Republican candidate for Justice Court Judge Southern District and Lance Adams has qualified as a Democratic candidate for Adams County Sheriff.

That brings the total to five candidates who have qualified for the Southern District Justice Court Judge position.

Adams will join Curtis Davis in challenging Sheriff Travis Patten, who is seeking his third term.

Qualifying ends at 5 p.m. today.

Of the 17 seats up for election, the following candidates have qualified as of 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 1:
