Concordia Parish Airport receiving $72K as part of Sen. Cassidy’s infrastructure law

VIDALIA, La. — The Concordia Parish Airport Authority is slated to receive a $72,000 grant from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
This grant will provide federal funding to install new lighting on the terminal apron.
The grant is part of $7.1 million in funding granted by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to Louisiana airports for improvements as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, announced U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., R-La., this week.
“Airports are the gateway to a city, drawing in businesses, investors, and families,” Cassidy said. “This funding from the Infrastructure Law will support airport improvements throughout Louisiana to make our communities more attractive for opportunity.”
Cassidy’s law will grant a total of $7,141,716 to improve local airports.
Other grants announced statewide are as follows:
· $1,720,000 to Airport Authority District No. 1 Calcasieu Parish: This grant will provide federal funding to reconstruct the airport general aviation building access road and terminal access road.
· $1,672,542 to Shreveport Airport Authority: This grant will provide federal funding to expand the Shreveport Regional Airport main terminal with the addition of gates, passenger areas and facilities, passenger boarding bridges, associated apron, and demolition and relocation of air traffic control tower.
· $705,000 to City of Bogalusa. This grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate the taxiway connector pavement and main apron pavement at George R. Carr Memorial Air Field.
· $630,000 to Chennault International Airport Authority: This grant will provide federal funding to install new lighting on Taxiway G.
· $504,001 to Rapides Parish Police Jury: This grant will provide federal funding to update the existing airport master plan study.
· $411,560 to City of New Roads and Pointe Coupee Parish: This grant will provide federal funding to reseal runway, taxiway, and apron pavement at False River Regional Airport.
· $349,923 to Acadia Parish Police Jury: This grant will provide federal funding to install landside perimeter fencing and access gates at Le Gros Memorial Airport.
· $306,000 to City of Slidell: This grant will provide federal funding to reconstruct the taxi lane midfield pavement at Slidell Municipal Airport.
· $341,550 to Town of Jonesville: This grant will provide federal funding to update the existing airport master plan study.
· $208,328 to Avoyelles Parish Airport Authority: This grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate runway lighting at Marksville Municipal Airport.
· $150,000 to City of Thibodaux: This grant will provide federal funding to reseal runway pavement and joints at Thibodaux Municipal Airport.
· $70,812 to Beauregard Parish Airport District No. 1: This grant will provide federal funding to reseal runway pavement.
