NATCHEZ – Julie Rae Willis Biglane, 68, died peacefully on Aug. 8, 2024, at her home in Natchez with her husband by her side.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1956, in Delhi, LA, the second daughter of Billy Ray Willis and Willese Black Willis. She attended school at Thomas Jefferson School in Natchez. She married Robert Biglane in 1979 and was the mother to three children and nine grandchildren, to whom she was their “Gran.” She worked for many years in the field of healthcare in the offices of Dr. Hicks, Dr. Gandy, and the Cancer Care Center. She was instrumental in organizing and conducting Natchez’s first Relay For Life event at the Natchez Mall. She enjoyed cooking for large family gatherings and attending her grandchildren’s school events. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church and later was a member of McNeely Road Church of God.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Willis, and her grandparents, Ray Willis and Ollie Irene Frazier Walker, and Willie Louie Black and Willie Mae “Dill” Black.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jesse Robert Biglane; her mother, Willese Black Willis, of Natchez; her daughter, Lashon Roy Brown (Walt), and son, Justin Robert Biglane, of Natchez, and daughter, Ashleigh Biglane Jeronimo (Gilberto) of Vidalia, LA; her grandchildren, Abby Brown Mardis (Chisum), Faith Anne Brown, Brooklyn Timmons and Jadyn Rae Biglane of Natchez, and Jordan Biglane, Cruz Biglane, and Mia, Luna and Nova Geronimo of Vidalia; her sisters, Billie Jo Davis (Skeeter), and Deborah McConnell, and brother, Mike Willis (Sharon), all of Natchez, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will take place at McNeely Road Church of God in Natchez on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Brother Doug Fisher officiating. The funeral service will be preceded by visitation with the family at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Young, Mike Pace, Will McConnell, Cruz Biglane, Gilberto Geronimo and Walt Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leslie Davis and Skeeter Walley.

The family wishes to especially thank Liz Rogillio, Andrea Woods, Cathy Young, and Billie Jo Davis who provided many hours of care and compassion during the last months of Julie’s illness.
