NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Shirley Mae Floyd Berry, 76, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, in Natchez will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Hope-The Vision Center with Bishop Stanley Searcy officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Shirley was born Nov. 15, 1947, in Adams County, the daughter of Ollie Mae Floyd and Walter Floyd, Sr. She was previously employed as a bank teller. Mrs. Berry was a member of New Hope-The Vision Center where she served as an Evangelist. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, shopping, and ministering.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Berry, Sr.; parents; grandparents, Deila Malone, James Malone, and Hattie and Fred Floyd; siblings, Walter Floyd, Jr. and Lawrence Floyd, and niece, LaRhonda R. Ward.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: James H. Berry, Jr. and Dwight A. Berry (Angela); daughter, Tangela B. Banks (Rickey); goddaughter, Tremia Gooden; sister, Dorothy “Velma” Smith; grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
