NATCHEZ — The LaGrange Annual October Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26, sponsored by District 3 Adams County Supervisor Angela Hutchins and LaGrange community member Lisa Davis, will feature free food and entertainment and a visit from U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson.
Thompson of Bolton, a Democrat, represents Mississippi’s second district in Congress.
“We will have jump houses for the kids and will be serving children hot dogs and chips and a barbecue for adults,” Hutchins said. “Everything is free.”
The event, which will be held at LaGrange Community Park, 59 LaGrange Road, will begin at noon and continue until 8 p.m. Thompson is expected to speak at 1 p.m., and entertainment, which includes performances by Nathaniel Kimble and Lady Trucker, begins at 2 p.m.
“We have lots of sponsors who will be participating, like representatives of AJFC Community Action and Goodwin Health, who will present what they offer, ways they can help out,” Hutchins said.
“We hope to have food trucks and snowball trucks join us there — anyone who wants to participate,” she said. “We want everyone in the community to come out and enjoy themselves. It will be a great event. People can bring lawn chairs and grills and barbecue if they want. It will be a good time for fellowship with neighbors and the community. It’s our way of giving back to the community,” Hutchins said.
Anyone who wants to donate to the October Festival or participate can contact Davis at 662-701-8402.
