More than 75,000 votes later, we’re celebrating the Best of the Miss-Lou.

The annual reader’s choice awards presented by The Natchez Democrat and Natchez Magazine culminated in a winner’s reception this week at the Natchez Convention Center.

We honored more than 200 men and women who were voted the “best” in business and in their profession by their customers, friends and neighbors here in the Miss-Lou. And what a celebration it was.

These awards are the recognition of hard work, excellent customer service, and expertise – all wrapped up with the desire that drives to serve that drives every business owner, professional and award-winner.

The most important aspect of these awards is the fact that the votes and the recognition come directly from you – the customers and clients, the folks who shop in stores; call on plumbers when in need; and seek out the expertise of doctors and veterinarians. While you cast you votes with your dollars each time you support a restaurant or store, and taking time to vote in the reader’s choice awards is an added recognition for the winners.

Thank you for taking the time to vote and support these businesses and individuals.

Thank you, as well, to the sponsors who helped us celebrate the winners: Platinum sponsor United Mississippi Bank and McDonald Collision; Gold Sponsors Concordia Bank and Trust, Paul Green & Associates Realtors and Natchez Powersports; and Silver Sponsor, Stuart Heflin State Farm.

Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson and Walter Tipton of the Natchez Convention Center made the newly renovated exhibit hall available for the event; Rene Adams and Simply Spectacular Catering provided excellent food and drink; Moreton’s Flowerland provided beautiful centerpieces; and DJ Kevin kept the energy up.

In his welcome to the winners, Mayor Gibson reiterated the most important message of the night: “You are the best of the Miss-Lou.”

And you are.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you again to all who cast a vote in the process.
