The Natchez Bluff was filled with sights, sounds and aromas that could only be associated with the annual Natchez Rotary Chili Cookoff. Hundreds of people gathered across from the Grand Hotel Saturday to taste some of the area’s best chili, have a little fun and raise money for Natchez Children’s Services.

This year’s competition was fierce. Judges assessed entries based on presentation, aroma, and consistency, while fans had their say with the People’s Choice Award.

The Krewe of Phoenix won top honors with First Place for Best Chili. The second-place award went to 95 Country, while Jordan Carriers rounded out the top three. The People’s Choice Award went to the Chili Chicks, while Cook Lawn and Tractor won Best Decorated Booth with a New Orleans Saints-themed entry.
