Jan. 24, 1943 – Oct. 31, 2024
NATCHEZ – Marguerite Francis Wallett Rogers went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 31, 2024, at 81 years old. Marguerite had been battling cancer and is now at peace with her beloved husband John.
She, who was born on Jan. 24, 1943, grew up in Natchez and went to Washington High School. She was a member of the family with gypsy in her blood. Over the years she and John would pull up stakes, with a planned place to move, and set off to start a new adventure. When Marguerite lost John, she came back home.
Marguerite was very active and loved dearly by her church, Covenant Presbyterian Church. Her deep and resounding faith and belief in God our Father lived in her heart and was practiced every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Rogers, and her parents, Nellie and Anthony Velez.
Marguerite is survived by her brother, Stacy E. Wallett of Natchez; niece, Sonya W. FitzSimons of New Braunfels, TX; nephew, Stacy E. Wallett Jr. of Mulvane, KS; two nieces, Erin Roberts and Carrie Rogers, two nephews, Mike Dickerson and Jim Dickerson on the Rogers side, and many other nieces, nephew, and cousins all of which she loved with her whole heart.
A memorial will be held on Nov. 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchez or The American Cancer Society to continue research on this horrible disease.
