VIDALIA, Louisiana — Earlier in the month, Mayor Dan Gibson wrote a commendable and inspiring message in the Top of The Morning to encourage the families in the Miss-Lou area.
With the devastations experienced by many in our community, he graciously reminded us of Psalms 121: 1-2, I will lift up my eyes to the hills from where my help comes. My help comes from The Lord who made heaven and earth.
We do have ‘A Loving Help and A Living Hope.’ That message of truth and encouragement can be shared in a myriad of ways. In a time where families are experiencing great tragedy and loss, it is a good reminder that there is still Good News!
With great pleasure, the River Assembly-Vidalia welcomes Ballet Magnificat, America’s Premier Christian Ballet and Touring Company back to the Miss-Lou with an awe-inspiring performance to share The Good News of Jesus Christ.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at the Vidialia Conference and Convention Center. Admission is $20 per person regardless of age. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. Children under age 6 are not permitted for this performance. Tickets can be purchased at (theriverassembly.com/events).
You can also obtain additional information on the website on how to become an active partner in this fundraiser by making a donation.
Past performances as early as 2016 were hosted by Parkway Baptist Church, Catholic Charities and Women of Worship with proceeds going to The Guardian Shelter: Home for Battered Women. Performances have included Hiding Place, The incredible story of Corrie Ten Boom, Deliver Us!, The story of Moses and The Children of Israel. Also, Before His Throne Boldly which was a ballet of praise and worship. The performances usually last about 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission.
We encourage you to come out and support this meaningful event. Make it a family outing, girls day, couples date, youth trip, father daughter date. It will be an enjoyable experience for all who attend and your support will be greatly appreciated.
The proceeds from this event will assist Ballet Magnificat as they travel throughout the US and around the world to share their message of hope through music and dance.
The afternoon will also provide financial assistance to The River Assembly as we continue to serve the community in teaching God’s Word, supplying food to the needy through the ministry of Feed The Hungry, and assisting with repairs to damages to our facility incurred during the ice storm in 2021.
We hope you make plans to attend as Ballet Magnificat comes to share their hope and to lift our hearts.
