NATCHEZ – A graveside service for Joan Moss Grubbs will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez, officiated by Brother Carl Smith.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Joan was born to Varney Jackson Moss and Melba Taylor Moss in Laurel, MS on March 30, 1934. She was a lifetime member of Morgantown Baptist Church, where she served on the flower committee and looked forward to serving refreshments at Vacation Bible School every summer. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. She got a special kick out of riding the towboat with her husband, Wade.
On Feb. 3, 2025, Joan left to be with the Lord in Heaven, and reunited with her loving husband, Wade Grubbs and numerous family and friends.
Left to miss Joan are her three children, Cynthia Porter Childers of Brandon, Tommy Porter, and Joey Porter and his wife, Becky all of Natchez. Her memory will also be cherished by grandchildren, Sherece Manchester and her husband, Brent Rogers of Turtletown, TN, Monica Ratcliffe and her husband, Brant of Madison, Jason Porter of Meadeville, and Jessica Zuccaro and her husband, Richard of Natchez. Her great-grandchildren include Holden Rogers of Chattanooga, TN, Jackson and Wilder Ratcliffe of Madison, and Adelaide, Drake, and Judson Zuccaro of Natchez. She is also remembered by her special nephew, Marc Moss of Atlanta, GA.
