FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Terri Lynn Taunton, 73, of Brandon, MS will be held at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, with Bro. Steve Ambercrombie officiating.

Interment will follow at Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family would like to invite friends to a visitation before the service from 9 until 10 a.m.

Terri was born on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1951, in San Angelo, TX, and passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, in Jackson, MS. She was a resident of Brandon, MS, and a member of Fannin Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. For many years, Terri worked as an administrative assistant for Vernon Steven, always offering her support and warmth to those around her. She took great pride in helping others, never hesitating to lend a hand. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. Terri adored her children and cherished every moment spent playing and watching her grandchildren. An avid LSU Tigers fan, she cheered with passion for her team. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Natalie Fairbanks; sister, Carolyn Smith; brother, Lester Gene Fairbanks; paternal grandparents, Lee and Mamie Fairbanks; and maternal grandparents, Blake and May  Lacy.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Sammy Taunton, of Brandon, MS; son, Brent Prudhomme (Jessica) of Wiesbaden, Germany; grandchildren, Lacy Lynch (Ryan), Haley Maloney (Ryan), Logan Prudhomme (Lexie); great-grandchildren, Lane and Lyla Lynch, Owen and Jude Maloney, and Dex Prudhomme. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
