DOLOROSO – Funeral services for Marie D. McDonald, 83, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Nolan Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Marie was born on Nov. 4, 1941, in Woodville, the daughter of Marthann Jones and Will Henry Davis.  She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Woodville. Marie enjoyed singing and fishing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard McDonald; mother, Marthann Jones; granddaughter, Kietra McDonald and great-granddaughter, Alysia Mo’nae Williams.

Marie’s memories will be forever cherished in the lives of her sons, Howard McDonald (Tolo), Jimmie McDonald (Leona) and John McDonald (Denise); daughters, Mary Claiborne (Lee, Sr.), Denise Williams (Jerry) and Brenda Johnson (Kenny); brother, Freddie Lee Davis; sisters, Bobbie Jean Davis and Thelma Davis; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
