NATCHEZ — Natchez Police Chief Cal Green confirmed that a person died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon on Highland Boulevard near Briarwood Road.

Police were at the scene investigating the crash around 12:45 Sunday.

Green said it appeared that the driver, identified as 44-year-old Trae Jones, had a medical issue that caused him to crash his vehicle.

He ran off the road and into a ditch before crashing through a fence, Green said.
