NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Arthur James Richardson III, 50, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, in Natchez will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Erick Hoskin officiating.

Burial will follow at Wilderness Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Arthur was born on Feb. 26, 1974, in Fort Walton Beach, FL, the son of Betty Washington and Arthur James Richardson. He was educated in the Natchez-Adams School District and was a truck driver. Mr. Richardson accepted Christ at a young age. In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting, grooming dogs, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Grays Washington; grandparents, Bebly Whiting and Ameila Whiting, Arthur James Richardson and Mary Richardson, and brother, Mack Washington.

Arthur leaves to cherish his memories: father, Arthur James Richardson, Jr. (Grace); son, Jaylen Fleming “Jay”; daughters, Courtney Billups, Aaliyah Davis, Teiriney Richardson, Jada Richardson, and Taraji Richardson; brothers, Cornell Whiting, Danae Richardson; godbrother, Karlesio Richardson; sisters, Ameila Jones, Monique Simmons, Amanda Richardson, and Arthaya Richardson; godsister, Kizzy Richardson; grandchildren, Kennedi, Jayden, Demari, Dalvin, Kensley, Khortlan, Kylie, and Jay’Lei; godson, Jlyis Payne, other relatives, and friends.
