NATCHEZ — A ribbon-cutting Friday celebrated Divine Consignments, an upscale resale shop at 101 Northgate Road.
Inspired by faith and a desire to run a business that helps the community, Rebecca and David Vicknair retired in Natchez about four years ago and founded Divine Consignments in March of 2024. While technically a year old, Rebecca Vicknair said it is still a new business for her, adding “We got so busy right after opening we just got around to the ribbon cutting.”
“We wanted to have a spirituality (in the name),” Vicknair said. “You’ll see on our logo we have the dove of peace. … We weren’t doing anything in retirement and were looking for something. I read a book on how to run a consignment business and thought I’d give it a try.”

The shop carries all sorts of clothing items, including children’s and infant clothes, formal dresses and casual wear for men and women. It also carries shoes, jewelry and some home décor.
“We have a little bit of everything,” Vicknair said. “We have clothes of all kinds, luxury items, designer purses, and right now some gowns and evening dresses for Mardi Gras. I want people to know we’re here.”
Those who are looking to save money on clothes, or make money selling them, can do both at the shop.
“Perhaps people don’t quite know what to do with the clothing when a loved one dies and they don’t want to just throw them out, they can bring them here and we will put them on the floor. When they sell, they get a percentage,” Vicknair said.
