NATCHEZ—Lotte E. Smith, 96, of Morrisville, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. Lotte was born on Sept. 4, 1928, in Swetzingen, Germany. There, she met her future husband, JE, before moving to Mississippi in 1958. Lotte resided in Natchez and was a founding member of First Lutheran Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, JE Smith.

She is survived by her son, James E Smith, and granddaughter, Brooke T. Smith, of Morrisville, NC.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at noon at Natchez City Cemetery.
