Dec. 24, 1964 – Feb. 28, 2025

NATCHEZ – Bryan Howard Callaway, born Dec. 24, 1964, in Brookhaven, MS, left this earthly world to reunite with his parents, Josh and Karen Callaway, on Feb. 28, 2025. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Donna Catherine Vegas Callaway; his daughter, Wesley Callaway Riley (Newt); his son, Josh Baker Callaway III (Camille); and his sister, Jennie Callaway Smith (Jarrell).

Bryan had an adventurous spirit growing up in Natchez, where he made many friends and memories. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met with his quick wit and kind, heartfelt words. He graduated from South Natchez High School, attended Mississippi State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha, and graduated from Ole Miss Law School. He also briefly attended LSU, not so much for educational purposes but primarily to chase his future bride, Donna. Bryan had many interests, hunting, fishing, gardening, and storytelling, but his greatest passion was spending time with his family.

As an attorney, his legal advice and expertise were beyond reproach. He served Adams County and the people of Natchez in many roles, including as a Justice Court Judge, Adams County Prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney, City of Natchez Attorney, and Staff Attorney for District Judge Debra Blackwell.

All who knew Bryan are much better off in their own lives for the time spent with him. He was a big, strong man who loved his family and friends deeply. He gave selflessly to all, even to those he barely knew. His life should be an example of how we should all live to make this world a better place.

Services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Jefferson Street Methodist Church in Natchez, under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.

Friends and family honored to serve as pallbearers are: Braxton Batte, Greg Batte, Joe Bowman, Haley Fisackerly, Clay Harmon, Jesse Horton, Monty Mayo, Paul Ott, Jarrell Smith, and Jim Willard.

The sun will rise tomorrow, and a new day will begin. Thank God we will all have the memories of Bryan Howard Callaway to carry us through the day and the years until we all meet again.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent in Bryan’s memory to Cathedral School or the charity of your choice.
