FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Kelvin Bernard Brooks, 59, of Ferriday, will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. from the Doty Road Church of God on Third Street in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Frogmore, LA. Bishop Justin Conner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 6 p.m., on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home.

Mr. Brooks, son of Sidney and Minnie Fletcher Brooks, was born in Ferriday and died at his residence.

He is survived by his four children, Malik Crockett in Monroe, LA; LaVeka Gregory and N’Kendra Brooks both of Ferriday; and Kanedra Brooks of Baton Rouge, LA; his siblings, Willie Fletcher (Elmore) of Rome, NY, Lavern Brooks, Patricia Smith, Betty Brooks Snyder (Eddie) and Linda Ezell (Fredrick) all of Ferriday, Dickie Brooks of Alexandria, LA, and Ollie Mae Brooks of LaMarque, TX; two aunts, Bertha Williams of Milwaukee, WI and Ernestine Leonard of Zachary, LA; one uncle, David Leonard of Ferriday; five grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mr. Brooks in death are his parents, and one brother, Bobby Rydell Brooks.
