NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Lisa Arnette Barnes, 55, of Natchez, who passed away on Feb. 23, 2025, will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Thompson officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez and on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church.

The Angel of Death visited on Feb. 23, 2025, at 4:28 p.m. and transferred our sweet Lisa from the labors of this life to the sweet rest reserved for the saints.

Lisa Arnette Barnes was born on April 28, 1969, to Laura Barnes and the late Henry Barnes, Sr. Lisa was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church by the late Rev. Leon Howard. She later became a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Sibley, where she served faithfully until her health declined. She was a graduate of the North Natchez High School Class of 1987.

Lisa was previously employed by Mississippi Medicaid Office and the Adams County Health Department.

Preceding her in death were her father, Deacon Henry Barnes, Sr.; grandmothers, Irene Jones and Hester Givens; three brothers, Robert Banks, Henry Barnes, Jr. and James O’Neal; and stepdaughter, Tanya Kennedy.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Laura Barnes; longtime companion, Roy Kennedy; daughter, Jaleesa Williams; son, Najja Barnes Sr.; sister, Andrea Williams; brothers, Darry Jones (Rita), Chief Petty Officer Ronnie Barnes (Sheretha), and Aaron Hills Sr. (Tanya); uncle, Willie James Jones, Sr. (Lisa);  granddaughter, Asyah Williams; grandson, Najja Barnes Jr.; stepson, Roy Kennedy, Jr.; step-siblings, Taffany Jackson, Roosevelt Jackson, and Stanley Jackson; seven nieces, Aimee Banks, Kenisha Reynolds, Sheronica Barnes, LeCeria Hills, Erica Proby, Jasmine Rose, and Kenisha Jones; twelve nephews, Keon Banks, Lowry Banks, Ricardo Williams, Henry Barnes III, Trevis Barnes Sr., Ronnuntra Barnes, Aaron Hills Jr., Javon Hills, JaQuain Hills, Erick Herrington, Derrick Herrington, and Darry Jones Jr.; a host of great nieces and great nephews, other family members and friends.
