FERRIDAY – A celebration of life for Clay Hale, 73, of Waterproof, LA will be held at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, with Bro. Curtis Smith officiating, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before the service from noon until 2 p.m.
Clay Hale was born on Thursday, May 31, 1951, in Newellton, LA, and passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his home that he built by hand. He was a lifelong resident of Tensas, LA. Clay was a hardworking man who found joy in building and working on projects. Whether with tools in hand or surrounded by friends, he poured his energy into everything he did. Clay was always the life of the party, known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. His famous words, “If it’s for a laugh, it’s worth it,” perfectly summed up his approach to life. He never missed a chance to bring a smile to those around him. Clay will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Rushing Hale; parents, Ernest and Dorothy Hale Sr., and brother, Ernest Hale Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chad Hale of Vidalia; daughter, Tina Hale (James Matthews) of St. Joseph, LA; three grandchildren, Briana Davis (Mark Nichols and his son, Eylon) of Start, LA, Chris Davis of Monroe, LA, and Laura Beth Hale (Clayton Habetz) of Waterproof, LA, and a host nieces, nephew, family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Spencer Williams, Cam Hale, Robby Milstead, Leroy Ezell, Manuel, Heath Jones, and Sambo Jones.
